The Pinnacle Charter School is celebrating a decade of making a difference as a public charter school. We operate under the authority of the Charter School Institute.
The Pinnacle’s Mission and Educational Approach
The Pinnacle uses the Core Knowledge Curriculum in Grades K-8. This curriculum provides students with a rich and broad knowledge base upon which future learning can build. Our goal is to insure that all students are given access to the same knowledge base that will assure them of success as adults. The Core Knowledge Curriculum provides a detailed, explicit, and systematic sequence of grade specific content taught consistently each year.
The core content is organized to spiral through the grade levels to high school, becoming more sophisticated and detailed in each successive grade. Students retain information much longer and find skills more easily applied when meaningful content is combined with the teaching of basic skills. The Pinnacle emphasizes the acquisition of basic skills in reading, language arts, and mathematics in the lower grades and reinforces those skills through application as students mature and advance to higher grade levels.
The Pinnacle’s High School program offers a college preparatory curriculum to prepare students for entry into post-secondary educational experiences. Advance Placement and dual credit (college/high school) courses are available.
Recent Pinnacle Charter School alumni have been accepted at many renowned local and national colleges and universities. These institutions include:

Elementary, Middle School, and High School
We provide an opportunity for students to receive a consistent educational experience beginning with the primary and elementary grades and continuing through middle school and high school. Families with multiple students enjoy the convenience of four schools at one location.
Administration
The administrative structure of our school is comprised of the School Board, Executive Director, and Administrative Team.
The Pinnacle Team
The Pinnacle Team consists of our Administrators, Educators, Support Staff, Parents, Students, and Community Members.
Pinnacle Educators are licensed professionals. Our educators receive ongoing staff development to support and enhance our curriculum plan. Through the use of our Positive Behavior Support (PBS) program, Pinnacle educators strive to build and nurture positive relationships with students, parents, and peers. Pinnacle Parents are crucial and the number one reason for the success of their students.
The Pinnacle strongly urges parents to
- volunteer
- find ways to get plugged in
- serve in the classroom
- serve at special events
- participate in and support fundraising
- become a Pinnacle Community Partner
Parents need to develop close connections with their student's teachers in order to support them in their school-work and become their strongest advocate. Regular communication is critical in the educational process. Parents will receive progress reports from the teacher every two weeks to keep them informed of their child's status.
Pinnacle Students are expected to...
- behave respectfully to adults and peers in words and actions. Noise in the classrooms and the halls should be maintained at a level of respect for the others in the building.
- raise their hands and be recognized by the teacher to speak or leave their seats unless other classroom procedures or methods have been established to supersede this. This effective discipline provides an atmosphere for learning.
- use courtesy and respect at all times.
- spend from thirty to sixty minutes a night on homework. Proper spelling, grammar and penmanship are expected in assignments. Memorization is expected and required for mastery of subjects such as math, history, science, languages, etc. Homework fosters good study habits and is vital for optimum development.
- regularly attend school. This is an important determining factor in student achievement and success. Attendance is the responsibility of the student and parents.
- be held accountable for their cooperation with teachers and other supervising adults.
Students are expected to follow and adopt the Pinnacle Three R’s (The Rules)
| Be Respectful |
Treat people how you want to be treated and honor the rights and feelings of others. |
Demonstrate
Responsibility |
Solve the problems that you create and celebrate your success. |
Build Positive

Pinnacle Support Staff also strive to build and nurture positive relationships with students, parents, and peers. Support Staff would include staff members within the following departments:
Pinnacle Community Members are encouraged to support our students by becoming a Pinnacle Community Partner. These partnerships play an important role in assisting our school with bringing goals to fruition. Promoting student community service is one of the Pinnacle's priorities. Students are given many opportunities to make a difference in their community through out the school year. When community members partner with our school, they are making a strong statement to our students to carry this mission on beyond school.
